Szabolcs Bajari: Violin

Szabolcs started his music career at the age of 5 attending Bartok Bela music school, one of the most renowned music schools in his home country. By the age of 12 he has grown to be a well know violinist achieving second place in a regional violin concerto competition. As first violinist in his school’s orchestra he has performed in both national and international events. At the age of 13 his family moved to Guelph where he continued his studies with Daphne Hughes at the Suzuki String School of Guelph. He also auditioned and was accepted into the Guelph Youth Orchestra where he played first violin under the direction of well known conductor Victor Sawa. In 1990, Szabolcs participated in the competition of Canadian Youth Orchestras in Banff, Alberta, where the Guelph Youth Orchestra won first place. He also performed in the Suzuki Chamber Music Orchestra led by Paule Barsalou, performing in various events including a ten day workshop in Paris, France, organized in honor of Dr. Suzuki. 

Currently Szabolcs is a bass player with Groundwave, a diverse rock band that was formed in 2005. Groundwave’s first CD “Mankind” was released in March of 2008
