An accomplished multi-instrumentalist, Steve teaches guitar, bass, drums, ukulele, and band classes. He is currently one of the lead guitarists in the band Mandroid Echostar and has spent the last 7 years touring and recording with the group. Last year, the band won a Juno award for their first full length album Coral Throne. With Mandroid, Steve has toured Canada and North America from coast to coast playing notable venues such as the London Music Hall and Casino Rama and sharing stages with bands such as The Trews, July Talk, Protest the Hero, Every Time I Die, Foxy Shazam, and Megadeth.
Steve is JamSchool’s resident heavy metal specialist but is also well versed in many music genres from jazz to blues to pop. Here is what Steve has to say about teaching at JamSchool:
“The opportunities JamSchool gives its students are amazing. Whether you want to be a solo performer, play big stage shows with a band, record your own original material, or just learn an instrument for the fun and personal enjoyment it provides, there is a spot for you. Being able to teach band classes and introduce kids and adults alike to the feeling of being a part of a killer rock band is something I wish had been around when I was first learning. Getting your feet wet on the JamSchool stages is a great way to learn the ropes of live performance in a fun, supportive and truly professional environment. It’s something I don’t think is available anywhere else in the area. I love being a part of the JamSchool team and seeing my students take the stage!”
