Trent began playing the bagpipes as many other young players in the Guelph area have; with the 121 Red Arrows Air Cadet Pipe Band (fun fact, he only started because he was tired of piano and wanted to try something different). He is currently the Pipe Major with the 121 Pipe Band. He began playing in 2018, and after starting lessons with JamSchool’s own Tyler Bridge, he joined the Guelph Pipe Band in 2020.

Trent has seen recent success in competition, having achieved first place in the Toronto Knockout Strathspey/Reel and Medley contests in the B Division. He looks forward to building his skills further and continuing to compete as a soloist and with the Guelph Pipe Band.

Trent enjoys teaching and sees it not only as a way to mentor his students and help them achieve their goals but also as a learning experience to give him a larger perspective on the instrument and music in general. Outside of piping, Trent is finishing secondary school and will be entering a career as a pilot. He is finishing his second last year of the Air Cadet Program, in which he has already served five years. He likes outdoor activities including skiing and mountain biking, and also indoor pastimes like cooking.
